NIL & Compliance
NIL & COMPLIANCE
Simple Rules. Clear Expectations. No Surprises.
Name, Image, and Likeness has changed college athletics permanently. Athletes now have the right to earn from their personal brand — and that is a good thing. But with that opportunity comes real responsibility, and the athletes who handle it right are the ones who understand the rules before they make a move.
Wake Up and Hunt is built on that principle. Every opportunity we create, every partnership we structure, and every piece of education we provide is designed to help athletes take full advantage of NIL — without putting their eligibility, their reputation, or their future at risk.
How WUH Approaches NIL
At Wake Up and Hunt, NIL activity is always deliverable-based. That means compensation is tied to specific, agreed-upon work — content creation, brand storytelling, apparel collaborations, ambassador roles, or community engagement. It is never tied to athletic performance, playing time, roster status, or anything that happens between the lines.
We operate independently of all schools, athletic departments, and governing bodies. We do not act on behalf of any institution, we do not influence recruiting or enrollment decisions, and we do not function as an NIL collective. What we do is create legitimate, clearly structured opportunities for athletes who align with the WUH brand — and make sure every one of those opportunities is built to hold up under scrutiny.
Who Is Responsible for Compliance
NIL compliance is a shared responsibility — and we take our part of it seriously.
As a WUH athlete partner you are responsible for understanding your school's specific NIL disclosure and reporting requirements, reporting WUH activity through your school's designated platform when required, communicating with your compliance office before and after any NIL activity when your school requires it, and following your team and conference guidelines at all times.
Wake Up and Hunt structures every opportunity around clearly defined deliverables, operates without using institutional logos, uniforms, or trademarks without proper authorization, and never interferes with a school's compliance process. If your compliance office has questions about how WUH operates we welcome that conversation directly.
When in doubt — talk to your compliance office first. Always. We would rather lose a deal than cost an athlete their eligibility.
Disclosure and Reporting
Many colleges require NIL activity to be reported through a school-approved platform such as INFLCR or Opendorse. Some schools require disclosure within a specific timeframe. Some review deals for compliance rather than approval. Every institution is different.
The bottom line is straightforward — if your school requires disclosure, you are required to report your WUH activity. We will provide you with documentation of any agreement or compensation to make that process as simple as possible.
Compensation and Deliverables
All WUH compensation is tied to specific deliverables agreed upon in advance, reflects fair market value for the work performed, and is paid only after those deliverables are completed. There are no bonuses for performance, statistics, wins, or anything related to what happens in competition.
This structure exists to protect athletes as much as it exists to protect WUH. Clean deals with clear terms are good for everyone.
Financial Education
Wake Up and Hunt includes foundational financial education as part of the athlete development experience. This covers budgeting and cash flow basics, understanding NIL income at a practical level, general tax awareness so athletes are not caught off guard at the end of the year, and smart financial habits that compound long after the sport ends.
This is education — not financial, tax, or investment advice. We are not accountants or attorneys and we do not pretend to be. What we are is a platform that believes athletes deserve to understand money before it starts moving, not after mistakes have already been made.
Use of School Logos and Uniforms
Wake Up and Hunt does not authorize the use of school logos, uniforms, or institutional trademarks in any WUH content or partnerships. Athletes may not use institutional marks in connection with WUH activity unless they have received explicit written permission from their school to do so. Personal photos and content are acceptable when compliant with school policy.
If you are unsure whether a piece of content is appropriate — ask your compliance office before you post it.
High School Athletes
For high school athletes, additional safeguards apply. Parent or guardian consent is required for all participation. All activity must comply with applicable state high school association rules. NIL activity through WUH cannot influence school choice, enrollment decisions, or athletic eligibility. The focus at the high school level is educational and developmental — not transactional.
We prioritize protecting a high school athlete's future options above everything else.
Questions and Open Communication
Athletes, parents, coaches, and compliance staff are always welcome to reach out with questions about how WUH operates, how specific opportunities are structured, or how our processes align with institutional requirements. Transparency is not just a policy for us — it is how we do business.
