Walk-On Athletes

Earned. Not Given.

Wake Up & Hunt was built with walk-on athletes in mind -- competitors who choose effort over guarantees and growth over shortcuts.

Walk-on athletes often carry heavier loads: fewer resources, more pressure, and less margin for error. We believe that grind builds skills and character that matter long after sports ends.

Who This is For

This program is designed for:

  • Current college walk-ons (all divisions)
  • Non-scholarship athletes
  • Former walk-ons transitioning out of sports
  • High school athletes preparing to walk on at the next level

Participation is voluntary and independent of team status.

How Wake Up & Hunt Supports Walk-Ons

WUH focuses on development and opportunity, no shortcuts.

Support may include:

  • Brand and NIL education
  • Career and life-skills development
  • Storytelling and content features
  • Community mentorship and peer network
  • access to WUH initiatives and projects

Opportunities are not guaranteed and based on availability, interest, and alignment not playing time or depth chart.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NIL & Walk-Ons (Clear and Clean)

Walk-on athletes are eligible for NIL opportunities under the same rules as scholarship athletes.

At WUH:

  • Any NIL activity is deliverable-based
  • Compensation (if any) is tied to legitimate brand work
  • NO incentives are offered for enrollment, retention, or performance
  • School reporting and disclosure rules apply equally

WUH does not create roster spots, scholarships, or participate in team decisions.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Financial & Life Skills Education

Walk-on athletes often face greater financial responsibility with limited institutional support.

Wake Up & Hunt provides foundation education to help athletes make smarter decisions early, including:

  • Budgeting and cash-flow basics
  • Understanding NIIL income at a high level
  • Avoiding common financial mistakes
  • building habits that translate beyond sport

Wake Up & Hunt does not provide financial, tax, or investment advice. Education is informational and skills-based.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Built to Complement, Not Compete

WUH exist to support what teams already value in walk-ons:

  • Work ethic
  • Reliability
  • Leadership
  • Accountability

Our goal is to help walk-ons become more prepared for:

  • Life after sports
  • Careers outside of athletics
  • Leadership roles within their communities

We do not interfere with team culture, coaching decisions, or compliance process.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

High School Walk-Ons & Future Walk-Ons

For high school athletes considering a walk-on path:

  • Education comes first
  • NIL exposure is limited and compliant
  • Parent/guardian involvement is required
  • Long-term development matters more than hype

We help athletes understand why it really takes to walk-on mental, physically, and professionally.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Real Stories. Real Paths.

WUH highlights walk-on stories to:

  • Educate younger athletes
  • Show realistic pathways
  • Celebrate earned success
  • Build community -- not ego

Story features do not imply roster guarantees or school affiliation.
